Well I just wanted to post my congratulations on this wonderful website, it looks amazing!! I know there have been many exciting changes for your group lately and I look forward to seeing what 2011 will hold. What a great way for people to connect and share ideas locally. I thought “The King’s Speech” was wonderful and can’t wait to see it again! I’m reading the book right now written by a descendent of Logue’s and it is interesting to compare it to how events and characters are portrayed in the movie. Rocket science is another movie (a few years old now and without the big name star power of the king’s speech) featuring stuttering with a multidimensional character where stuttering isn’t portrayed as being the but end of a joke – did anyone see that one?

There have been a few glitches with the new site when viewed in older browsers, so hopefully everyone will update their browser to the most recent version available (or I could try to make the site more compatible with older browsers… hmmm…).
I hadn’t heard of Rocket Science, so I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it. I can think of a few movies where there’s a character who stutters, and it’s used mainly for ‘comedic’ effect, so it’s good to know of at least 2 movies that take a more positive approach.
