2011 CANADIAN STUTTERING ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE: MAKING CONNECTIONS

The 10th Canadian Stuttering Association Conference will take place in Vancouver, B.C. on August 19th and 20th.

2011 will be a special year for the Canadian Stuttering Association as the year will mark the organization’s 20th Anniversary!

Like past conferences, the goals of the event are two-fold: first of all, to be a learning experience featuring workshops and seminars about stuttering. Secondly, the CSA conference offers a rare chance for people who stutter across Canada and beyond, of all ages and backgrounds, to meet and socialize.

The theme of the 2011 Conference is Making Connections. It will be enhanced by current technologies such as video streaming and podcasting – valuable components of the event. The main goal is to allow for face-to-face contact and the opportunity to speak with our voices to others who understand our problem.

The conference will be held at the Sandman Inn in downtown Vancouver and conference attendees will be given a special discount rate at the hotel.

See you in Vancouver.

I first took speech therapy some 30 years ago in Ottawa and recently completed a semi-intensive course at the Ottawa Stuttering Treatment Clinic. I am an active member of OAPWS and appreciate the support and sharing of common experiences.
